Forgotten Heroes of the Kindertransport

with Mike Levy

20 April 2021 at 11.00, join from 10.45

The Kindertransport, the flight to Britain of 10,000 mostly Jewish children from the persecution of the Nazis, is usually associated with the British stockbroker Nicholas Winton. He managed to save six percent of the children - who saved the other ninety four percent? What about the Rabbi, the Dutch aunt, the Quaker and the German department store owner?

Mike Levy is a writer, playwright and historian and has given many sessions to national and regional Limmud. Based in Cambridge, Mike is a Lead Researcher at the UK Holocaust Memorial Foundation, educator with the Holocaust Education Trust and researcher at Keystage Arts and Heritage. As Chair of The Harwich Kindertransport Memorial and Learning Trust Ltd, he is working to create and place a memorial statue and education programme for learning about the Kindertransport and the crucial role played by Harwich and Dovercourt.

Join him to learn more about the Kindertransport and hear the little-known stories of the crucial instigators of this unique act of rescue.
