The United Synagogue Women's Shabbat 2022 will take place on 14-15 January, with the theme 'Hearing Women's Voices'. Next Shabbat is 'Shabbat Shirah' – when Miriam led the women in song after crossing the Red Sea.
The purpose of US Women's Shabbat is to amplify women's voices in our communities. Many communities' programmes regularly feature in-person and online female speakers and this is a further opportunity to invite women to teach next Shabbat and in subsequent weeks.
We'll also be broadcasting our first ever online Women's Kabbalat Shabbat on www.TheUS.tv before Shabbat starts at 2pm on Friday 14 January.
Regular Women’s Kabbalat Shabbat services already take place in a number of United Synagogue communities, including Alei Tzion and Magen Avot, Borehamwood and Elstree, Bushey, Edgware, Hadley Wood, Hampstead Garden Suburb, Highgate, Kinloss, Mill Hill and Pinner.
The initiative is being spearheaded by Naomi Cohen, our Communities Development Manager and you can get in touch with her via ncohen@theus.org.uk.
