Thursday 19 August, 2021 I don't want to alarm anyone, but Rosh Hashanah is just over two weeks away. Our communities are in full swing planning services and programmes for what will be a very busy September and we wish them well. You can find details of a number of 'First Night Selichot' events in the Communities section below.
To get you in the mood, five of our communities - Barnet, Cockfosters and N Southgate, Hadley Wood, Potters Bar and Woodside Park - are collaborating on what is set to be a fabulous festival of learning, in person, this Bank Holiday Monday afternoon (August 30) at Cockfosters and N Southgate Synagogue.
The Chief Rabbi will be speaking, as will Rabbi Adam Hill, Rabbi Dr Samuel and Rebbetzen Shoshana Landau, Rabbi Akiva and Rebbetzen Batya Rosenblatt with keynotes from Rebbetzen Lauren Levin and Rabbi Shaul Rosenblatt. Sessions include 'The Motifs and Motives of the High Holy Days', 'Re-imagining the Jewish Self' and 'Connecting to the High Holy Day Prayers'.
