Bring them home
Thank you to everyone who came to Sunday's 'Bring Them Home' rally in Trafalgar Square. To continue the campaign, this coming Shabbat, the Board of Deputies and the JLC are asking the community to set an extra seat at their table in memory of the families in Israel whose loved ones have been taken hostage. Take a photo of your table before Shabbat and share it with the hashtag #BringThemHome.
This week's sedra is Lech Lecha from where we learn from Avraham and Sarah the foundational midda, Jewish value, of hachnasat orechim, hospitality. Together we can remind the world that more than 200 innocent people won't be guests at a dinner table this Shabbat.
We know the outpouring of love and concern throughout our community and the desire to do something to make a difference so we've put more ways to help the people of Israel on our website.

Provide hot Shabbat meals for evacuees
Last week you helped provide nearly 11,000 Shabbat meals for families in need in Israel. Thank you for your generosity. We are making the same call for one more week, again working with UJIA to provide this vital Shabbat lifeline.
Many of these families have lost their homes or have been evacuated, many are in mourning or are waiting desperately to hear news of loved ones currently held hostage in Gaza. The cost for a family of five is £25, but if you can, please cover the cost of 2 families (£50) or 4 families (£100). Please donate via the link below.
