A huge mazal tov to our Kashrut team - KLBD - for picking up the prestigious Employer of the Year award at this year's Work Avenue Business Awards!
Work Avenue Business Awards recognise enterprising businesses within the community, celebrating the invaluable and unique contribution each of them makes. The Employer of the Year award celebrates organisations that go the extra mile to support their employees and build a workplace to enable everyone to reach their potential for the good of the charity.
The judging panel said: "KLBD provide an excellent service to the community in a meaningful way and lead a vital organisation, by example."
KLBD colleagues work tirelessly across time zones and continents to ensure that kosher food can be made and enjoyed around the world. Here in the UK, more kosher products are available in regular supermarkets than ever before.
Rabbi Jeremy Conway, KLBD's Director, told us: "We are very honoured to have been given this award. I mentioned to a colleague that we had been shortlisted for this award and said I had no idea why - what makes us different from any other company? He answered it's because we are not a company - we are a family!
"So I'd like to thank my KLBD family for their amazing work bringing kashrut to the community and making keeping kosher cheaper and easier than ever before. We are very focused on promoting kashrut but we recognise that an organisation is only as good as its staff. We rejoice in their simchas. We try to support them at difficult times and we look after one another. Thank you to Work Avenue for recognising this."

Nailbiting football finals!
Congratulations to Finchley United (Kinloss) and Mill Hill United whose young people triumphed in 'Tribe-A-Side' on Sunday - Tribe's inter-communal 5-a-side football competition! The yearly tournament for teenagers has been running for over fifteen years.
Some 75 children across 11 teams took part at Power League Mill Hill. Both finals were full of drama as Mill Hill came back from 5-1 down against Hendon United in the Key Stage 4 final (Years 10 and 11) to clinch the trophy on penalties.
Hendon also reached the Key Stage 3 final (Years 7-9) and despite dominating the final in normal time, they couldn't find a way past Kinloss' superhuman goalkeeping (and some luck with the woodwork). It also took a penalty shoot-out to separate these sides, with Kinloss ultimately emerging victorious. Well done to the winners, finalists and everyone who took part.

All United Synagogue nurseries rated 'Good' by Ofsted
We are delighted to share the news that following Woodside Gan's latest Ofsted inspection (details below) all six United Synagogue nurseries hold a 'Good' rating from Ofsted and are recognised as good, warm and welcoming nurseries.
This result is testament to a huge amount of hard work on the part of our dedicated nursery managers and passionate nursery staff, supported by our schools team in Head Office. You can find out more about our nurseries here. There are also a number of school nurseries and independent nurseries on US premises which you can see here.
